My wife and I had an amazing experience here. Luciano was kind and friendly and picked us up on time, just as he said he would. He made transport to and from Cefalú comfortable and easy. Once there, Marylouisa and Paola we’re perfect guides! And of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how awesome and friendly Stella and the mighty Romero were (the horses)!

If you’re in the Cefalú area and you are looking to ride horses through some of the most beautiful country on earth and with super knowledgeable and friendly guides (and beautiful horses!), this is your place. HIGHLY recommend. Thank you Luciano, Marylouisa, Paola, Stella, and Romero - we hope to come back soon!

This was the most amazing adventure through the beautiful countryside. I can’t think of a better way to experience the beauty and nature of the Madonie.

Everyone was super nice and helpful. Paola and Mary Luisa were excellent guides. The horses were calm and well trained. You can see and feel that the horses are well cared for here. Luciano even picked us up and returned us to Cefalu.

Hopefully we can return and take a longer adventure next time!

Casual horseback rides only with my wife and wonderful guide Maria, though the Madonie area nearby. Oil groves, vineyards, farm animals on a breezy day in the Sicilian countyside. Excellente!

I highly recommend this place. Luciano and Marialuisa were extremely welcoming hosts, and even if now due to COVID we had to keep safe distance, all went well and I felt very welcomed. They were very responsive over the phone, prepared everything for the trips before and after the excursions, and were good company.

The horses seem to be taken care of in a good way, and they behaved pleasantly and calmly at all times.

I made two excursions, one of 5 hours “La terrazza sulle Eolie”, which took us all the way up to Pollina, a picturesque rural town on top of a high hill, where we made a small stop to enjoy the view and get an ice cream together. Another tour I did was through vineyards (2 hrs) which was equally pleasant. I have lived in Sicily and travelled around quite extensively, but the views seen from our routes were still breathtaking!

Small tip on getting there: from Cefalù the easiest and fastest way to get there is by following the SS286 until at the left-hand side there is an exit directly to the gate of Tenuta Luogomarchese (the agriturismo affiliated with SicilyHorseTours). Then the way will take you 15-20min. Don’t take the rural road via Sant’Anastasia, as Google Maps will probably tell you - while that one is very scenic as you navigate between vineyards, the road is narrow and it takes you about 15-20 min longer.

Luciano and Marialuisa, grazie mille and I cannot wait to come back in the future!

Best place to go riding in Sicily. The horses are very well trained but still fun and fast if you are an experienced rider. Park Mardonie is so beautiful and there are many beautiful small Sicilian villagers close by.

We went on a short - 2 hours ride with my 9yo daughter. Views were incredible, as well as an experience of riding up and down in the real offroad conditions. The guide was great, very respectful and professional. For sure we will try it again in a couple of months. 100% positive review.

This was my first time going on a holiday trip like this and I am sitting back home filled with lovable memories.
The excursions, the scenery, the food, the people, the horses, it was all great.
It was a bit chilly, but all in all, we were quite lucky with the weather, for that time of the year. I do recommend that you bring long johns and pyjamas, as the rooms are made for keeping the heat out, especially if you are a freezing person, like me..

The two day trip was amazing, the others wasn't as exited as I was, about the fact that we were so high up, we were actually riding inside a cloud.

I do not doubt that the horses are loved, but there are certain things that can be better. My standards are very high, and this is the only reason I can not give a full score.
All the different horses we had, were easy to ride, I got a "difficult" one (I said I like to ride crazy horses) but the only thing different, was that he had a tendency to jerk the reins out of my hands, and help himself to food along the way. He was a lovely horse, could get off as a little bitchy on the ground, but it was all an act. Loved being scratched between the ears.

We were all experienced trailriders, and we had so much fun on our different trips.

I had to take a day off, because my back problem, and my knees isn't the best. It's mostly riding up or down the different mountains, so be aware that it will be hard on your body.

What bothered me the most, was the two horses in the stable, day and night on a dirty concrete floor. Not sure how often they are allowed outside.
No bedding in the box, no toys or other stimuli, just 4 walls and waiting for the next meal..
I also think that the horses we rode, should have had a little more fat on their body, it was the end of the season, but still. We did change up the horses (except for 1) so they weren't used for an entire week. Even if they will get at least one week off, the rides are hard, so they need a day or two to give those muscles time to build up again, during the week-rides.

Can i recommend this place?
Yes, they will take good care of you, and the more experienced you are, the more fun you can have.

I want to thank our two guides, as they were both very attentive, one had a little fever a couple of days, but perked up at the end. I miss this place. 😘
