Island Surfboards was established in 1969 at Phillip Island. They got a great surf school at Smiths beach and a fun surf shop in Cowes. The coaches and staff are so proffessional at what they do and i had a fantastic time visiting Phillip Island because of them. I strongly recommend people to go there when you're in the area.

We spent a morning on the beach and kids wanted to hire boards and wet suits and keep longer and change boards - and nothing was too much for these guys! They were fantastic and could even provide a wet suit and board for my 6ft 10 son! What a pleasure to be served by people who are helpful and... More

Took a group of 25 teenagers to the surf school, mostly first timers. Great explanation of surf safety & the fundamentals of surfing. Very attentive & friendly Instructors, had everyone standing on their boards by the end of the lesson. Great fun had by everyone. Highly recommend, a must visit for first time surfers visiting the Island. Thanks very much.

Took our 2 teenagers and an exchange student for a surf experience on Saturday morning. We couldn't have scripted a better experience. Class size was 4 similar aged kids & a 5 year old. Couldn't wipe the smiles off the kids faces. All of them were standing up surfing within a short period of time! The instructor spent 1:1 time... More

This morning, my 2 kids and friend participated in a group lesson with these guys. I need to tell everyone that they had a great time. The instructors were friendly and helpful. They tried to get everyone participating and standing up on their board. It's a one stop shop- they supply boards and wetsuits - even the sunscreen and it's... More

You never quite know how a day with young teenagers is going to turn out, but the instructors (Adam and Mal) ensured we had a day to remember. Their style of teaching made sure we were safe and engaged at all times. It was a group lesson of 11 people, but we all got plenty of personal attention. We all... More

My daughter has taken a couple of lessons with these guys, and she now surfs like a champ. They run 2 hour classes and are very professional in their approach to surf training. Smiths beach is a great beach for learning how to surf safely, and I recommend the quality of this tuition. I need to take some lessons myself... More

The team at Island surf were great they ran through all the fundamentals of surfing, including safety, they were patient and very pleasant with everyone. They looked like they all enjoyed their job which reflects in the quality of customer service they provide. Everything is provided for you to get out surfing right up to the sunscreen which was a...
