Easy parking, great scenery, helpful staff. We hired a canoe for an hour, and had a great time paddling along the river. There are a few other options, including electric boats and stand-up paddle boards. (I’m not sure why it’s described as closed until further notice, it was definitely open in July & August 2023).

Arriving in Mervent and looking for something to do we were by pleased to come across the water sports centre. Twice we hired a canoe going up the rivers for a couple of hours, where we saw lots of wildlife, especially herons. The staff were helpful and polite.

Good price , good range to choose from and huge lake to explore. Staff were brilliant. There is a locker where you can keep your staff while your on the lake.

We had an hour in an electric boat and my two boys aged 7 and 9 loved that I let them drive all the way to the dam and back in an hour. The staff were excellent and the scenery breathtaking

Only went to this place to take the dog for a walk, they had everything you could want for a camping trip!
Free parking, camping area, football pitches, outdoor pool, bouncy castles, artificial beach area, water sports, boat hire.
Looked great if you were going on a holiday in search of these type of activities.

Great thing to do with kids. Staff is friendly! We rented an electric boat for one hour. You can rent it for more than one hour but i dont suggest that. After an hour you get a fair impression of the lake and it surroundings.

Five of us, 2 adults and 3 under 12s has a wonderful day’s cycling in Mervent Forest. Bicycle hire for 3 hours was good value and the bikes were in great condition. Plenty trails offering all degrees of difficulty but note even the green family trails could be challenging but as non cyclists we still managed it!! Only downside was the trail markings weren’t always obvious but it became part of the fun! Beautiful countryside - extremely clean and quite. Would advise taking plenty water and breaks! would definitely recommend

Monday 30th July we hired 5 bikes from the guys at Base de Loisirs Nautism. They looked after us very well. Prepped each of the bikes and provided two new inners and a pump incase of a puncture, this was a nice touch and gave us confidence whilst we enjoyed the cycle route, which was a mix of road, forest and off road (We had a go on some Blue routes too). Given the heat of the day they also provided us with water bottles and a back pack (which was much better than the plastic bag I had brought). The following Friday we enjoyed swimming in the lake. Great location and a great team. Thank you for our fun filled hours.
