The Faia Brava Reserve is a private protected area in NE Portugal, managed by the Associacao Transumancia and Natureza (ATN) and dedicated to the protection of the Vultures, Eagles and other birds that breed in these cliffs of the river Coa. Possible activities include hiking, biking, bird-watching, nature and landscape photography, and sessions in the vulture hide during spring and summer.

Great and really wild area with vultures, eagles, horses and wild cows. The the steep slopes of the river are formed by granite outcroppings and cliffs, a good habitat for the cliff-breeding birds.

This is a beautiful reserve and is spotless clean. They have wonderful hiking trails. We even saw some vultures circling in the distance.

This stunning nature reserve surprised me in many ways: first the Egyption vultures, Bonelli eagles and other rare cliff breeders. but also the landscape, the deep Coa valley and its surrounding historic villages where time stands still. It hardly matters what you see here, as the setting is so great. I hiked down to the Rio Coa and was stunned by the profusion of wildflowers in late May. I didn't come across another person, so peaceful.
