A great example! magnificent mountain surroundings. This is one of the best monuments of the history of these lands. Poles, Slovaks, Hungarians and other nations consider this place almost a historical place of worship. WORTH!

Some parts of the casle are closed. Therefore,a small circle of visits is even shortened and guide runs ahead and doesn't talk much of anything,so after 25 minutes we had after the visit.Orava castle I visited first time with this experience.Big pity !

Beautiful old castle. Each half an hour a tour in Slovak starts. You can't go in without a tour. Prices for children are low. Even though we didn't understand the guide it was worth visiting.

If you are in the neighborhood it is worth a visit but don't drive more than 30 min specially to visit this castle since it mostly closed for renovations. Instead of the full 2h visit, they now do a 30 min short tour, which looks like 30% of what the castle has to offer.Fair to say that due to this... More

I saw only one castle more beautiful than Orava Castle but Malbork Castle is not that dark and inspiring. No wonder Nosferatu movie was shot there!

It has always been a definition of a medieval castle for me. It is located atop a rock in a valley of Orava River, which looks spectacular, not far from Tatra Mountains, that are visible from the top floors of the castle. The castle itself hosts a museum of Orava, Múzeum P. O. Hviezdoslava which contains some overview of the... More

Good guide and perfect location on the top of the rock. Not big groups = you will enjoy the visit. I suggest to visit in the morning, to avoid waiting for time schedule :)

Visited the castle with my wife, her parents and 9 month old. Castle is beautiful, high above the river and in excellent restoration. The castle can only be viewed as guided tour - main one lasts 2 hours though there are two other versions. Guide was very informative and the displays are a combination of the castle itself and general... More

I have always dreamed about visiting this castle, because it looks so magical from the outside. BUT! It is not really for foreign people. We took a guided tour today, first of all, we had to wait 40 minutes to get the tickets, and at the cash desk the woman spoke no English/German/French at all.... only Slovak. The guided tour...
