Stunning National Park. My main reason for visiting was to see the vultures and I got to see them in abundance!! The scenery in the park is beautiful. Also on the way into the park, stop at the car park near the castle and walk up to it to take I some breathtakingly amazing panoramas. There are some walks throughout... More

If you love great scenery, and are interested in birds and wildlife, you must visit this Parque, we were in awe of the landscape, we like to do a bit of bird watching, were not twitches... But we were rewarded greatly, unbelievable for the big raptures, vultures, Eagles, but lots of small birds, we even saw wild pigs and wild... More

We drove up to within 100 yards of the castle. The castle sits on the top of a ridge and the views are absolutely breathtaking in all directions. The view of the birds is much better off the main road. There are plenty of benches to sit on and birdwatch for hours. We enjoyed our visit to this park in... More

I arrived to the site as I was taking part in a workshop in the national park. For a brief visit, it didn't disappoint at all. the landscape views are amazing. Some spots are not to be missed whatsoever and that includes the view point from Salto del Gitano where spotting Cinereous and Griffon Vultures is granted at any time... More

The park's visitors' office is staffed by efficient and pleasant people. Plenty of options for excursions of various difficulties, over well maintained paths and clear sign posting.

Do visit this beautiful natural park, about an hours drive from Caceres. Parking at the village of Villareal de San Carlo, there is a helpful information centre which gives little walking maps and driving routes with special points of interest. We chose the shortest hike, about 7.5km as it was a very hot day. You do need sturdy footwear since... More

Magnificent scenery, beautiful river valleys, towering cliffs. And then you look up in the sky to see circling vultures and eagles. We counted 25 pairs of vultures in one minute. This is a magical place with good waymarked pathways and viewing points.

If you have a car and you're in the Trujillo area, you must do this trip! Beautiful scenery and yes, the vultures are incredible to see!! Literally hundreds of them!! Get an app called maps.me, free and works off gps. Has all the view points and castle already loaded on it!!! Take the EX-208 from Trujillo to Plasencia, it goes... More

Follow the EX-208 south from Plasencia towards Trujillo. The scenery becomes progressively more arid and mountainous. From Vallareal de San Carlos you start descending into a gorge at the bottom of which there is a lake. You hear strange bird noises and large shadows appearing from out of nowhere. You stop and soon realise that the squawks and shadows are... More
