We came on a Sunday so it was not an optimum time to be visiting an active place of worship. The outside is impressive and shows the active building of the edifice through time as reflected by the changing architecture. It is one of the most visited cathedrals and they are asking an entrance fee to see the inside of... More

Small by cathedral standards. Very elaborate carved altar. Active cathedral with masses going on while tourists meander.

This is a great place to visit with a really comprehensive audio guide which is in English. There are great views from the tower too. It's worth the €4 fee!!!

The movie company filming here was allowed to cover the façade with a movie backdrops, and covered the famous shrine on the corner of the church that Pilgrims on the way to Santiago touch. If you are here when they are filming one of the many movies filmed in town, you wont see much of anything. You wont be allowed... More

Beautiful church to visit, with the entry fee you get an audio tour (English) which was very well done and informative and access to the bell tower, which was a highlight for me!! Beautiful views over the old town and the most INCREDIBLE spiral staircase!!!

The visit was made better with the assistance of an audio guide. Gives great details. The altar is stunning! Well worth the climb up the bell tower too. Provides fabulous views over the city.

We attended a service but never felt that the entrance fee was worth it apart from the fact that the money must help preserve the building and art

View from tower was OK but better from taller tower at San Francisco Javier church on other side of Plaza de San Jorge. Costs a euro to get in... fair deal for being able to enjoy the beauty.

The Church of Santa Maria is well worth a visit. Only €1 entry fee. It has a wonderful altar and historical exhibits.
