We stayed in San Fruttuosa for 3 nights.it is magical but I don’t think it was worth €7 to visit the abbey. It looks magnicicent from the sea as you arrive and from a distance it looks beautifully restored in a very simple maner. Inside I...More

Lovely isolated position reached by boat. Not much to do here except bathing and inspecting the monastery. It has been nicely restored and has very commendable information in all rooms, among the best in its class.

We hiked from san rocco to abbazia di san fruttuoso via el paso dei bacio and it was wonderful. The views were spectacular. The hike in itself in not hard if you have good trekking shoes. At some stage it is very exposed but there...More

This village can only be reached by boat or a small mountain footpath. We viewed it from our boat on a private boat tour. There is a church and a 10th Century Abbey. A Bishop was killed in AD259 during persecution of Christians and is...More

Some of the reviews I’d read suggested the Abbey wasn’t really worth a visit but actually it was great value for €7 euros per person. Well organised and signed, great views out over the bay and some beautiful (and very old) architecture. Make sure you...More

We came via boat from Portofino. Abbey is very easy to access. There is a guide (handout) in English which explains a lot of the site. The signs include English. The place is spectacular.

You can only get here by foot or by ferry but you should stop for a visit. Entering from the water the views are beautiful and the small cove and Abbey are gorgeous.

We hiked from San Margerita Ligure to Portofino and then San Fruttuoso. The trails are in good shape, in some places extremely well manicured and well marked. Plan 2 hours from Prtofino as it has several steep sections. We took the boat back to San...More

Only by boat or foot, the place is enchanting, with three little restaurants (two on the beach) and the Abbazia to visit. Small very nice beach, only for respectful visitors. The kind of very precious place.

Agree with Ana. Went there last month and we hiked through but it's so small you can keep an eye on your stuff while swimming. Enjoy!
