Having read the reviews before going I was dubious about visiting but we did! what a mistake! You can't visit the ruins without going on the caves tour. So we paid our 12 euros each, and get our A4 sheet of translation/explanation of the tour,...More

The ruins themselves are not particularly impressive and I wouldn't pay the entrance fee just to see them. But the views over the town of Valkeburg and the nearby hills are great, so I'd say you should still do it if you have the time....More

Could not offer a review of the ruins as we could not gain entry. They only accept Credit/Debit Cards and will not accept cash!

Out in the open is this site with the remainder of what once was a castle towering above everything else in Valkenburg. Worth a look.

Amazing walking tour of middle-age ruins in The Netherlands. This TripAdvisor page recommends three hours but it can be done in less than half that if your pressed for time. Definitely a weather-dependent tour.

Visit the velvet cave which connects you to the castle. Ask for the interesting history of this castle. Enjoy the view from the top.

This attraction the Castle ruin should not be missed in Valkenburg. Informative and historical and speaks of the past of Valkenburg. The tickets are reasonably priced.
