Valkenburg is quite a pleasant small town in E. Holland. A key attraction (for us) was the Christmas market in the caves. Very different. Enjoyable. Worth the effort if you like Christmas markets & are in the vicinity.

the Castle ruins i visited some years back but it's interesting for those who enjoy history as I do. Valkenburg is a busy town, a historical area, attracts foreign and local visitors, many small lunchrooms as well as good restaurants. Hotels in the town but...More

Kids loved running around. Beautiful view. Lots of fun. Kids until 3 go in free. We were there with kids ages 1.7-4 and we all enjoyed. Went with a stroller.

Nice place to see the city but it is easy to Miss since the entrance looks modern. Entrance fee was Euro 6

I have been to both, and while both are excellent, Cologne has more appeal I think because it is held next to the cathedral. I also don't recall having Glu Wine at the Dutch Market. I have not used either coach line.

Hello, We are thinking of going here in December, but understand there is a steep walk to get there. I would be so grateful if anyone could tell me little bit about that such as how far is it and how difficult might it be with walking stick. Many thanks Anne
