Lake Yojoa is a must on your way to the Caribbean coast of Honduras. The scenery is very beautiful, great fried fish on the road (El Jardin del Bass) and astonishing natural parks nearby (PANACAM). A must to know in Honduras.

Wonderful lake - as large and pretty as any of the more famous in Central America (Atitlan being the obvious one) but much less busy and spoilt. Lots of walking opportunities and good range of wildlife. Must-see in Honduras!

The Lake Yajoa area is quite nice but many zoom by on the main road between SPS and Tegucigalpa. It's well worth visiting the area and the hotel options are improving although restaurants could improve (fried fish is still the best thing). The D&D brewery...More

This April 2, 2016 visit is a second visit to the lake, with viewing/birding from a different point than the restaurant area. We walked a wide path beginning across the road from La Naranja Archaeological site. Scrub, grassland and lake birds made up a long...More
