It's said that walking beside water is good for your well being so I would definitely recommend a walk beside the River Lea. The towpath is in very good condition but watch out for cyclists coming up behind you. There's plenty of lovely scenery to...More

Lovely river to have a scenic walk on. Great for a leisurely wander, especially if the weather is nice.

River Lea at the Hertfordshire end is absolutely beautiful with plenty of good walks along the tow path. Lovely at every season, with different things to see. We have a narrow boat so it is also great for trips along the actual river.

The Lea is a beautiful river that sends it's way through Hertfordshire, my home county. I like it in the Spring, ducks and ducklings, Swans and cygnets and frog spawn and tadpoles.

We usually ride along the tow path, but this time we were out for a casual stroll. The track is well drained with only a few puddles and muddy sections. Regardless of this I would recommend that you wear suitable foot wear, like boots, and...More

There is easy access from several points on or near to the main street in Ware. A quiet stroll, punctuated by narrow boats and other water craft, and numerous water fowl to add interest. Charming small houses and rooms overhanging the river add character to...More
