Ancient....Soodi kodutha sudrkodi andal temple... ..Do ensure you do pooja for andal Parrot... you would be given a parrot made of leaves..so divine.....one of the must visit temples of tamilnadu... the official logo of TN govt is this temple tower

The temple car was very heavy 40meter tall and 650 tons and it took days to take it back to the original position. Before 2000, the practise of drawing the temple car during the yearly festival was suspended.then the temple car was modified with hydraulic wheels to ease the movement.

Srivilliputhur is another famous temple town in Tamil Nadu. This is an Andal temple. Very ancint and very nice temple. THE TEMPLE IS HUGE AND HAS lot of carved pillars. 80 kms from Madurai airport, pothighai express train is running from chennai. Afternoon 1 to 3 pm temple closing hours. They offers free lunch based on token system. During Tamil month aadi ( July/August), car festival happens. For Tirupati venkatasalapathy, a garland is sent from here everyday after goddess wears that garland.

I am a guy from Virudhunagar and I am proud that this temple belongs to my district. Its really close to Virudhunagar and easily accessible through car. Srivi is also famous for its milk sweets. MUST VISIT.
