Rémi our outstanding skipper for the day was entertaining funny and careful !!we were 12 on the boat off to discover the Scandola natural marine park!! And we were not disappointed- it is exciting and beautiful! The red stone against the blue sky is something that only nature can create to perfection! The trip lasts 2.30 hours and costs 40 euros each. We travelled around the peninsula and then the skipper took us inside grottoes and finally we were allowed to have a swim and snorkel! Great day out!!

We booked and paid for this trip five days in advance. The weather had been windy so we were unsure if they would sail. Their phone number didn’t work, so we sent an email, which they did reply to. The trip went ahead. There were two French families and us. We speak English and Italian, but unfortunately the captain only spoke French, so we didn’t understand any of his extensive anecdotes or information. Obviously we appreciate we were in France, so it was our problem, but a few words of English would have been useful. Anyway the trip was fabulous and well worth the €40 a head price tag. Great for 2 1/2 hours. Unfortunately we couldn’t swim because there were jellyfish where we moored, but this didn’t really spoil a great afternoon.

We took Circuit C which is a 2.5 hour trip to Scandola including a 20 minute stop for snorkelling (equipment provided or you can take your own). I initially sent an email on the website asking for information and received a reply the next day. When I phoned to make a booking, the lady thankfully spoke English and I made a booking for the following day. There is free parking behind the harbour. The boat seats 12 people in 3 rows of 4. The seats are wide and very comfy, and there is plenty of space to put your bag on the floor in front of you. You can also stand up once the boat is moving slowly. It was great fun speeding out of Galeria harbour for about 25 minutes to Scandola, then the boat slowly followed the coastline back, with a stop for snorkelling. The driver gave information about the Nature Reserve in French - we were not expecting it to be in English so we had done a bit of reading beforehand to find out information about the Nature Reserve for ourselves. 40 euros per person was a great price for this small group experience and I recommend this trip.

2h 1/2 boat trip to visit the Scandola national park. The park is very beautiful and Remi, who drives the boat and provide information on the reserves is very friendly and very knowledgeable. We saw royal eagles and sea eagles babies in their nest. Very impressive. We are a family with two young children. Everybody enjoyed it. Strongly recommend it.

Like so many English seaside resorts Galeria looks tired and a little shabby. Roads needs upgrading, drains and sewage need attention. The best efforts of the shops and restaurants cannot overcome the underinvestment by the department and region in what potentially should be a great holiday town.
