About
Pierrepoint Wines offers a Cellar Door/Farm Stay attraction in Tarrington in the heart of the Western District of Victoria. An hour's drive to the coast (the continuation of the Great Ocean Road), to the Grampians mountain range and to South Australia, the area has a wide and varied experience on offer! The Tarrington area is a picturesque, undulating landscape. The township named as Hochkirk by its German founders in 1853, changed its name to Tarrington in 1916 due to world events at the time. It has maintained a strong and proud German heritage. The town boasts one of the best cafe/restaurants in the district, Cafe Catalpa, which is family owned and operated and is only 4km from "Pierrepoint". The Cellar Door is open every day from 11am - 6pm unless the closed signs on the Highways are out when the Visitor Information Centres will be notified. We offer Estate grown wines together with wines from Regional Growers including a wide range of local produce.

We read about this winery so thought we’d drop in and try the wine. We were pleasantly surprised, we were greeted warmly by the owner and their dog! The wines are really nice and highly recommended them. The lady behind the counter was so knowledgeable about the wines and helped us with places to visit.

A beautiful, peaceful place, perfect for recharging your batteries. Jennifer was the perfect host, there when you needed something but not intrusive. We will definitely rerun next time we are in Australia.

The Pinot Noir Suite is compact but full of character and clean and bright.
Hosts Jennifer and Andrew were friendly and available when required.
Wines and cheese platter delighted.

After a 4 hs drive we got to this lovely looking vineyard. Jen warned us about her border collie jumping on us and wanting to play the next day, I said I couldn't deal with dogs (I have a fobia) and Jen dismissed us with a "good luck with that" as she turned her back to us and left. The next day I had bites to my arms and hands from whatever there was in the bed and the bathroom and kitchen's floor were full of bugs. I am from a tiny village in the countryside and had never seen so many bugs in a clean house. In view of this all, we left. We lost the money we had paid for the second night. Still the better option. Substandard, very unimpressed and also very surprised by it. I guess there is a first time for everything.

Really nice winery perfectly located between the Great Ocean Road and Grampians National Park. We had a really friendly and cosy wine tasting experience with Andy explaining us the different wines produced in the area. I recommend this place !

We visited this winery located near Hamilton in south west Victoria with a view to taste their wines. Unfortunately the day we arrived the focus was on setting up for a wedding which this winery is gaining a local reputation as a destination venue. So not much attention and no wines tasted, though their prices looked to be on the upper end for the district.

Wine tasting, then sitting outside on the lawn with a bottle of wine and a cheese board.
What could be a better way to spend an afternoon with family or friends.
The wines were delicious, though we each had different favourites.
A warm welcome and a great introduction to wines of this region.
We will be back.
