With over 250 mountains of almost 2000 meters high, including the 2469 meters Galdhopiggen, Jotunheimen offers nature at its peak. Hike, bike, climb or ski. Flow with rivers and listen to waterfalls. Camp wild and free, spend the night sleeping inside the park's wooden huts, cabins and lodges and hotels. In the Home of the Giants you touch the sky walking over the famous Besseggen ridge. Fly with eagles standing on top of the mighty Galdhopiggen or just lie on your back in the lush meadows of this natural beauty embraced by picturesque Lom, the green slopes of Gudbrandsdalen, traditional Valdres, the waters of the Sognefjord and the eternal ice of the Jostedalsbreen glacier. So watch and be watched by the abundant wildlife. Experience the freedom, beauty, Zen and mystique of Europe's wildest nature. Come, meet the seasons and listen to the heart of Norway, beating in Jotunheimen. Jotunheimen National Park, the heart of Norway beats between Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim.

Took the boat 08:00am on 30th August. If it wasn't for a school trip of 17 yos there would only be about 10-15 of us that morning. Booked boat ticket online for 150 NOK, and car park was another 190 NOK (as I remember). The...More

Did the Bessengen Ridge hike in late August on the traditional boat-Memurubu-Gjendesheim route. There's a received wisdom that this way is easier but the views are better going the other way. I disagree about the second part, the views through the valleys of Jotunheimen national...More

Really recommend this hike, the views are amazing. We are a young couple (30s, relatively fit) and it took us 6,5h including breaks. It is demanding - a steep long way up and a bit of climbing (not very hard but you need to use...More

A Must to see if you are in Norway. While the cities and villages are great to see -- go out to the north country and drive this national park. By far the best!

If you love nature, hiking and the feeling of being free and becoming one with nature, this is a fantastic place to visit. I've hiked here with tent and gear for three days and was amazed by the stunning scenery.

This hike is absolutely amazing for views, but it has a section where you clamber up (or down, depending on your direction) a rock face that's challenging and, quite frankly, terrifying. One slight slip or stumble can kill you, sending you on a half-kilometre plunge....More

We two Finnish adults did this great trail starting with boat to Memurubu. It is wise to come in time to car parking, because there was lots of people coming in morning time. 6 hours parking was 120 Kr. It is also important to book...More

We went on a morning coach tour from a cruise ship in Skjolden. Very steep winding road to the top. It was so very beautiful with lots of snow still on the mountainside. The silence, snow and blue skies took our breath away. Loved it!...More
