My review title says 'days' out because that is exactly what there is here, we have visited many times and are not getting tired of the place. It is lovely to have a gentle stroll down to the beach and sit in one of the...More

Really enjoyed half a day here. House interesting (even for 8 and 9 year olds) and gardens lovely. You can really imagine how relaxing it was for Queen Victoria to spend quality family time here. Durbar room really unique and beautiful. Only slight downside was...More

I feel the grounds and the outside of the building is more impressive than the inside which is gloomy in the atmosphere. I just loved the beach and the formal gardens. The hop on buses in the ground makes the going easier fro the less...More

Queen Victoria used this home a great deal with Prince Albert in the summer. She enjoyed the peace and quiet of the Island. It is full to the brim . The grounds are also a must. Well worth a visit.

Ok so I am in the 1% to rate this place so low. It is expensive to get in, it is extortionate to buy a sandwich and it is so dark and dingy inside that it is impossible to appreciate the works of art because...More

At nearly £20 each for adults the price was a bit steep if you are a member it's fantastic but we don't do many English Heritage visits so we took the hit. Otherwise a great time very pretty and informative.

Wouldn’t want to take very young children round the house, nothing of interest for them. There is the walk down to the beach where tiny tots could play but otherwise there is nothing for little ones.
