Stopped by while on the way to great restaurant in Lamole. Free tasting of four local chianti classico wines. All really good so we bought a couple of bottles. Professional and kind service.

Stunning location surrounded by vineyards. However difficult to find ( don't rely on your satnav) and 2-3 kms out of Radda. So a bit isolated. Our (superior) room was dismal, limited essentials and the reception we got was somewhat impersonal . Restaurant is only ok compared to others we have experienced in Tuscany. All in all a bit deflated. There... More

This was my favorite 'hotel' during our 2 week trip to Italy this fall. It was like an old farmhouse, but renovated, with each room seeming to be individualized and perfect. The breakfasts were also the best of my two week stay, as was the bar/wine room. It was a perfect start to the best vacation ever and this was... More

Castelvecchi is a very small winery that offers free tasting to those who make the drive. During the summary, I believe they are open from 1030-630pm (they close during lunch time). They make the best Chianti Classico that I've ever had and are well worth the visit. I ordered 18 bottles for shipping to London. Bottle prices are in the... More

We stayed four nights, the room had a comfortable bed and the location is very quiet. The garden is also nice and there is a pool there. Needless to say that there are vines all around. Overall a very good choice as a starting point to visit many Tuscan cities.

The Borgo was our home base for four nights in the Chianti Region, and I recommend it highly. Our room was actually a mini-suite with a sitting room a few steps above the bedroom/bath level. Very comfortable, good WiFi, plenty of wall outlets for recharging (this was an issue in many other hotels in Italy). We did the free wine... More

No temperature control b/c of the 3-4 feet thick stone walls? Baller!!! This was a fantastic stop on our ride from Radda to Florence. Very nice tour, wonderful wine and nice snacks. My mom, who hardly ever drinks wine, actually enjoyed this a lot. Only 5 Euro per person tasting. And obviously, you can have as much as you like.

This is one of the must do's when you are in Tuscany. The Castelvecchi is on top of the highest point in the area, a long winding road will give you rewards. Their wines are excellent, Sauvignon Blanc not a common wine in Italy is up with new world ones you find in Marlborough or Casablanca Valley. The reds are... More
