We absolutely loved this experience! We didn't want to do the tourist Waitomo caves experience as we had been told it wasn't worth the money by friends, but we still wanted to see glowworms and luckily found this tour. We drove from Taupo up to Waitomo and walked round the paths near the caves, so you get the experience without... More

Fantastic trip. A true New Zealand family run business. Highly recommend. I did this trip with my adult daughter and had a wonderful time. Felt very safe and guides were very knowledgeable and a bit "cheesy" with their jokes! Very organised and well run. I like that they ensured that everyone had the appropriate clothing and were able to provide... More

1. The staff were great. They greeted us as we arrived, got us set up into our gear, taught us the basics about kayaking and got us safely onto the water. They had one staff member up front and one at the back during the kayaking, which made sure no one got lost along the way. They gave little speeches... More

We thought we need to avoid touristy commercial glowworm caves in our trip. We thought seeing glowworm on a kayak was the next great idea. we thought right and wrong. It was wrong because apparently we were not so good at maneuvering double seated kayak and we were exhausted from our earlier activities whole day (7 AM self drive to... More

We arrived on time and were greeted by the staff cordially. The process of kitting out was underway and they even supplied a healthy mosquito repellant for those like us that forgot this Basic training on the grass on how to paddle and some safety tips.. Into the double canoes and a little practice for those not so familiar with... More

We took the evening Kayak tour and it was incredible. We are seniors and the tour was no problem physically. It is a leisure three hours up the river and a leisurely float back in the dark to see the glowworms. On the way up we see the history of the river that once had villages and a small dam... More

We had the best time, the staff are friendly, laid back and helpful. Everything was provided for, and everything was explained in a friendly manner. I went in a kayak with my ten year old son and he didn't really do any of the work but I still found the kayak easy to maneuver. Would highly recommend this to anyone

This is agreat trip for beginners and experienced alike. They have all the gear for a safe and comfortable night trip. The prep and management is excellent. The paddling was easy that night and quite delightfull going up. Drifting back was SPECTACULAR in the dark. Going through the cathedral like george surrounded by glow worms bought on a hush to... We made a mistake and booked this thinking it was the nearest glow worm kayaking trip when we were camping at the Mount. Turns out it is an hour's drive away but we are so glad we messed up. This trip was outstanding. Lofty and Ben were expert guides. The whole trip was expertly organised. Drifting in the dark along... More

I picked up tickets for this attraction through Grab One and was expecting a cave kayaking trip what I got was a hugely enjoyable paddle up Lake Karapiro before detouring down a side river canyon. It was down this canyon where all the glow worms were found. Unlike at Waitomo the glow worms were pin pricks of light covering the... More
