The stair climb to the Reclining Buddha carved in the rock was most interesting. Beautiful trees, monks who'll take your pictures, and quiet/barefoot walking (leave your shoes near the entrance). Crispy, clean water falls where the local ladies wrapped in scarves come lay down on...More

The park is 50km from Siem Reap and the road precludes using a tuk tuk especially for the last 15km. Scenic views and at the top a fabulous Buddhist Temple and a lovely waterfall. The reclining Buddha is high up a long flight of steps....More

It is very busy and crystal clear the water is not, however it is soo worth the swim. If you have towels take them. You can pay $1 for a lockable metal box to put all your stuff in.

The reclining Buddha was definitely worth the climb to see. And the drive through the countryside to get there was really nice. The waterfall is not that well signposted so make sure you walk all the way down to see it. The staircase is a...More

The road up to the mountains was not easy. The road was very bumpy all the way. There were 3 nice place to see... the sleeping Buddha, the 1000 lingga and the waterfalls. Pity the day that I went, the water was murky! There are...More

The most beautiful at the countryside. Phnom Kulen is the great national park with waterfall, a thousand linga and the biggest Buddha staying on the top of the mountain. Who loves swimming this place will satisfy you.

When you want to take something in other than feasting on delicious foods, shopping in the markets and visiting the temples downtown, check out Phnom Kulen. It's a wayssss away (about 1:45) and costs $20 for some guy who "cleared" (definitely not paved) a road...More

Preah Ang Thom a sacred place where a statute of a reclining Buddha was carved into a huge sandstone boulder. You are not allowed to wear shoe to the temple and have to leave you shoe with the local kid (and later you need to...More

Different seasons give very different waterfalls to look at and swim in. Very picturesque, the journey there is part of the fun, winding through the countryside, hills then up the mountain. Water is clean and warm to swim in. Lots of places to buy food...More

Kulen is a spot in Cambodia that reminds me of being at the river with my family and friends in my hometown (Russian River, CA). It's the spot for locals and tourists to take a river day! It seemed quite aways from Siem Reap, approx...More

Just assume the weather will be hot - shorts and light shirts would be my choice with comfortable shoes. Plenty of hotels just make sure you get one with a pool especially with kids. We stayed in the City River Hotel because... More

The only part you may want to avoid is the climb down to the pool at the bottom of the main waterfall - the climb down is easy, the climb back up not so easy. Don't forget there is the river with the carvings in the bed... More
