Magical wonderland. Love everything about this place. Had some of the best slumber in a long time. I had a phenomenal thai massage that was priceless. Enjoyed the incredible night sky while soaking in the hot baths.

Attended a workshop this weekend at Escalen. First, let me say the setting is beautiful. What's hard to understand is the lack of hospitality and customer service! This was my first time here. No one told me the amount of uneven pavement one would need to traverse to just get a cup of coffee in the morning! Yes, I understand... More

Going to Esalen can be a life-changing experience. Top-quality personal growth workshops led by national experts are well worth attending, and the vibe at Esalen couldn't be more inclusive and accepting. I think everyone should go there at least once. The property is beyond amazing, the baths unsurpassable, the massages out of this world...there is nothing to say but superlatives!

The Esalen experience is transforming. The new lodge is gorgeous. I recommend visiting Esalen solo as you savor more of the Esalen experienced with deep thought and meditation, quiet reflection, while providing you the space for engaging in conversation with like minded folks.

A fun, unique experience for late night adventurers. There are lots of reviews out there about the late night (1am-3am) hot springs access for non-resort guests. Won't add too much here but will state we had an enjoyable experience. The hot springs are well maintained and it was a comfortable environment. The other patrons were relaxed and most everybody seemed... More

first, you cant just walk in and try to get a room. You have to join a class in order to secure a stay at Esalen. The location is fantastic, the spa area built into the cliffs is just insane. But be aware its also a mostly nude area so if you have problems with that its not your place... More

I just finished a three-day Workshop here, and I have found that this is one of the most profound and spiritual places in our country! It's a magical place that you can go to for spiritual, physical and mental learning & renewal. I've been trying to come here for 40 years and I'm so glad that I finally made it. It's... More

What an incredible experience for all the senses. Amazing massage in a room open to the ocean where you can hear the waves and feel the sun. Great masseuses on staff. Be prepared for the "clothing optional" no one had any on so if your squeamish on nudity - you might feel a little out of place if you have... More

We went to the Esalen Institute for a Yoga workshop. This seems like a well organized and efficient organization. It was very busy while we were there. Keep in mind that the "rooms" are very basic, but very clean. The property is a bit rough. Lots of trash piled up in the dumpsters that just sit out for all to... More
