A required stop along the Big Sur coastal trip this park offers great ocean views with an incredible waterfall. River/Stream trails through the valley also nice and peaceful. Lots of parking at non-peak times.

As of April 2018, the trail is mostly closed, offering a limited view. It may not be worth it until the trail opens up. Also, parking could be a problem.

Nice little walk to see the 80 ft waterfall, though part of the trail is closed due to erosion now... which means you don't get the best views anymore.

This small water falls is quite easy to walk to from the parking lot. Nice views of the falls and beach and sea. A quick stop along Highway 1,

McWay Falls is beautiful. The $10 parking fee is worth it because the park pass works at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, Andrew Molera, and Point Lobos for same day entry. Support your state parks! Trails need money to be fixed.

McWay Falls is in every guide book for people hitting Big Sur, so unfortunately the tranquil vibes conveyed by all the famous photographs are nothing like the reality (which is loud crowds of people trampling a well-worn path from the parking lot and jamming the...More

My last stop of Big Sur was McWay Falls which isn't too far after Partington Cove. You can’t miss it as the cars are parked all over the street – I turned into the park entrance thinking you had to go through there to the...More

I have seen so many waterfalls. This one hands down is the most romantic one I ever saw . We watched the fall from the hill. Due to the weather condition, good amount of water was dropping onto the calm beach quietly .The wave keeps...More

We drove hours to arrive and learn the access to the falls was closed due to unsafe conditions. If you are hoping to hike to the falls you may want to check ahead.
