On a recent trip to Norway we made a large detours from the classic Fjord route up to Kristiansund and Molde just to drive through and experience the Atlantic Road. It is an 8km stretch of Engineering feat - a winding road with 8 bridges...More

Perhaps this is the best road trip in the world. The Atlantic Road is 36 km long. There is 8 bridges connecting smoth and uninterapted rocky islands together. This is excellent example of sucsesiful and minimal impact on nature.

I appreciate the engineering etc that has gone into linking the islands, but the hype and expectation exceeded my reality. I am pleased for the locals that the bridges have been built and (more importantly) had brought an increased tourist revenue income but... It is...More

It's nice, but honestly, unless you don't have an ocean in your life, it's not such a big deal. There is one interesting bridge, otherwise it's a pretty drive and that's about it.

Took my friends for a drive on this Atlantic Ocean road. Lucky to have a good weather on that day. The walk Way around the island near the information centre was very good. One of the best roads to drive enjoying the scenic view.

I have no experience with winter Norway, however I guess that really low temperatures, a lot of snow and polar night is not a great combination. There is amazing nature there with fjords, waterfalls and breathtaking mountain... More
