No map to take with you, pay in an honesty box. They lay out is not well sign posted. Got lost a few times. If you had a map and the layout was well done it would be ok. More for children I think.

We were disappointed, quirky yes but we were expecting more. The description gave the impression of garden rooms not an old shopping centre ride. It was a stunning dY with beautiful views but would not recommend.

Visited this garden today, the weather was overcast but pleasant. Quite a long drive down Quarry Road and part of the road was unsealed. Honesty box for payment today and you needed to take a picture on your phone of the map. There were 3 adults, 3 children and a baby in our party. The first path we saw was... More

If you have a young family then this is a wonderful excursion for them. The grounds are organised by childrens fairy tales. For instance there's an area for 'the three bears' etc. Most area's have a minature house, complete with accessories. Children can go inside a lot of them to see where and how the fairy tale characters lived. Allow... More

Set amongst wonderful walking tracks and NZ greenery, these gardens are a young child's dream. With the opportunity to run around safely the little ones can explore the 'homes' of some of their favourite nursery rhyme characters. Very cheap for the experience and worth the drive from Tauranga. Make sure you go on a bright sunny day.

This place is so beautiful! I can not recommend highly enough! So many secret places to explore and I love how there are so many separate parts to the garden it's lovely. The sculptures are great and the view from up there is amazing. There were lots of Daffodils in bloom but we will be coming back in a few... More

The gardens and buildings are starting to look a bit worn and tired but it was still an afternoon of adventure for our kids, aged 6&3, who loved trying to seek out all the little buildings and sculptures. Would have been great in its prime. Not much you can do for $15 dollars a family and that was it (... More

This walk is a short drive from Tauranga, just outside of Te Puke. It is a gorgeous garden in its own right, but the fun thing for kids is all the storybook characters spread around it! Look for the three little pigs houses, tweedle dee & dum, & the queen of hearts. Challenge yourself to climb up the 'stairway to... More

Quite a long walk involved, no flowers to see which was disappointing. No cafe:>( Pathways well maintained and the map came in very handy!

We arrived not knowing you needed cash, but the lovely elderly lady who owns the place let us in for the change we had telling us stories of the garden and how her parents got to NZ many moons ago. My two kids aged 3 & 4 loved the gardens, using the map we were able to get there imaginations... More
