A beautiful immersive old cathedral that onced was very significant. The lady who did the tour speak in Spanish only but with a translator, it was fine. The surroundings are very old and offer a nice spot to just relax.

A very beautiful Cathedral. A very interesting guided visit

Cathedral of Roda de Isábena, a little, medieval and very beautiful town in Aragon. Moreover, it is the smallest town, where there is a Cathedral, in Spain. The Cathedral is Romanic and it is small, however it is no longer a Cathedral, now it is a little parish of a little town. Inside the building you can see an amazing opened crypt, located under the altar. Really the cathedral is fantastic and curious and the guided visit is very interesting. It is a very good short excursion for one day: the cathedral, the town, and eating in a very good restaurant of the town.

An immersive bath of history in a village of Huesca

You will be shocked. By the size of the Cathedral, in such a tiny place as Roda de Isábena. And by the quality of some remains that send you several hundred years back, to the very beginning of the medieval ages. The quality of the visit is worth the ticket. Nice places for food and drink around.

Cathedral San Vicente de Roda de Isabena -oldest in Aragon
Apr 2014 • Couples
The cathedral was founded in 956,the portico and tower are 18th century. its very small but well worth a visit ( guided tours 3 euros, at set times). In April it was a lovely sunny day, there was almost no one around and the cathedral looked beautiful from the square outside.
It has two distinct spaces: the church and the cloister. There is a crypt divided in three areas, the one on the Northern side has interesting remains of Romanesque frescos in the apse.

I gather there is a restaurant in the refectory but it wasn't open when we were there.
