Another great beach in the Margate area. Look for the remains of the Margate Salt Water Hospital just inland. Well worth a visit.

I used to come here as a boy and stay in the 1950s at the Ivyside Hotel which has now been demolished which was a shame. I have come back for the last 8 years from Australia to visit friends in the area and St...More

Visited for a couple of days and with glorious weather found this beach had everything we needed to have a great time. The tide can go out a long way but was well on it's way in when we arrived. Plenty of room on the...More

Lovely clean beach, adequate amenities like fab cafe, toilets and parking, but have to pay. And in summer we have Lifeguards to.

Westgate-on-sea is a quintessential little British beach side resort with none of the fairground arcade attractions that seem to take over our seasides these days. Rows of little beach huts line the promenade along the sea wall and the beach is within easy walking distance...More

Quiet and unspoilt beach, we love coming here. When the tide is out you can enjoy lovely walks on the beach and watch the day go by, perfect!

This bay is always so quiet and peaceful. It is a Blue Flag beach and people with dogs are very respectful. I love it when the waves crash over the sea wall in the winter. You have to run between them to avoid getting wet....More

Stopped off at St Mildred's Bay to show my children where I used to go on holiday as a child - it hadn't changed much- still a safe sandy beach with the backdrop of chalky cliffs - those were the days!

Apologies for the delay in responding. I have seen people have bbq's here in the day and evening and am not aware of any notices prohibiting it. It would be a lovely place for a bbq. I hope you enjoy.
