Well worth the drive from Cairns to Mossman to see this wonderful area, with the whole family including kids, parents, grand parents, or couples and travel buddies. Well tacked and signed, as well as plenty if tours to help you appreciate the area.

We had a lovely afternoon at Mossman gorge. We started at the cafe, which I highly recommend - great barramundi burger! We then walked around the rainforest which takes about an hour or so. Then we went on the Dreamtime walk with one of the...More

Beautiful spot. You park your car at information centre, pay entry fee ($10.50/ adult, money goes toward local Aboriginal community and centre employs many locals), take a bus for 5 minute drive to the start of the walking tracks. Easy access for mobility impared, low...More

Access to the gorge is by shuttle bus which is reasonably priced considering there is no entrance charge - you can walk from the visitor centre but it is about 4km each way and you will want to walk round the gorge when you get...More

To think that this place is on our doorstep, living in North Queensland. Mossman Gorge is a very special and beautiful place. If you are into nature and walking you will love this place. It starts with the main building that has a cafe and...More

This is a great outing to get a little exercise and cool off from the Queensland heat. You can walk up the road from the parking lot to access the gorge walks, but take the shuttle. It's a bit of a 'cash-grab' at $9.50 per...More

Had never been to Mossman Gorge before so my family and I were curious to see what it entailed. Beautiful regional park with great Aboriginal history infused. Staff was informative and kind. Would recommend to anyone who has also never seen the suspension bridge either.

Take the shuttle bus from the car park ($9.50 return ) and start a series of nice gentle walks from the drop off / pick up point. The longer walk is around 2.5 k and does have some decent climbs that would be very hard...More

My husband and I visited during our Australia Tour. Lovely day out. Beautiful place to swim. There is a long walk through the forest, which was lovely. Had a latte in the cafe, which was one of the best we had all holiday. We read...More

The gorge is delightful and a popular swimming hole. Personally though I think the site is special. My experience is that the river does not want me there. Perhaps some ancient spirit of the land. I respect it and stay away. I think it is...More

Yes - unless you want to walk! But it's a long walk so for the $10 rough price entry it's worth the bus trip

You can but better to pay for the bus up and down as it will save you a lot of time. The walk around is 2.7 km from the bus stop and a good view of the local trees. Daintree is different again in terms of rainforest

I wouldn't suggest it as anything from dead animals to human fluids may be in the water. There are drinking water fountains at the visitor center for you to top up on water before you head to the gorge
