We missed out so much of the Vatican Museum on the first "guided" trip that we bought more "fast track" tickets and went back again on our last day on a self-guided tour. The basic cost of a ticket from the Vatican Sales Office was 16 EUROs. The cost with Dark Tours (our guided tour) was USD106 per person whilst... More

The Omnia Card is a 48/72 hour 'Oyster card' for Rome, emphasizing the more religious aspects the city offers, providing you with fast-track access to the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica. It also incorporates a Roma Pass card, giving you access to museums, monuments, Hop-on Hop-off bus as well as access to public transport. The exact details... More

We were only in Rome for a couple of days and wanted to add the Vatican city to our staycation. After being approached by many guides around the outside walls of the Vatican city who could give various kinds of deals, we decided to take one which would give us a jump the queue option. being 25th Jubilee year and... This is a no brainer I guess.. The queues can be long in the morning but if you go around lunch time there are no queues and we were able to walk right into the museum. There are lots and lots of guides along the way trying to sell you a private ticket or a skip the line ticket but... More

The Pope did a mass earlier that day. And the cardinals were in prayer inside later that day. Beautiful works of art and sculptures. Slightly crowded, lots of walking, so bring water and comfortable shoes. Women have to be covered up.(no shoulders showing and bottoms must be below the knee).

amazing sights but our guide through Viator didn't speak English very well & had a heavy accent. It is very noisy with all the different tours which made it hard to hear her. Definitely worth the "Skip the Line" Tours

What a great experience, it was so beautiful and very educational. Our tour guide was so educated and answered all questions that were asked. I honestly thought we had the best tour guide then anyone else. If you do end up going be prepared to be covered. You can not get in if you are wearing shorts above the knee... More

Make sure you buy your tickets in advance online. We arranged for an early morning tour and boy was I glad I did. That line for entry snakes around the building very quickly. We did the self tour with earphones, but a friend of mine said a tour guide was well worth it. It's simply amazing and not to be... More

There is a spirit about this immense complex built by the 'enlightened' emperor, that almost defied description,by a stalwart of history, like myself. To escape the torpid heat and smells of his beloved Roma,he vacations here,30 km away near the Tiburtine mountains. The enormity of the place,120 hectares of palaces and gardens is humungeous, but its his passion for beauty is appreciated,in awe,... More

Hadrian's Villa is one of the most stunning imperial residences left about one hour away from Rome. Nice to be combined with a visit to the renaissance gardens of Villa D'Este. More

You can find this 2000 years old great monumental area just a little out of Rome. The area is huge, as large as Forum Romanum in Rome. There are still some ruins and pools left so you can imagine how great "Villa" this has been. This was Hadrianus´s residence (he didn´t want to live in Rome) so that´s why the... More
