You must visit the beautiful Eden Garden on your way down from Mt. Eden summit. Created from a former quarry - this verdant garden is like an "oasis" in the heart of the city and has a large collection of plants in natural environment. It is an ideal place to spend peaceful hours in natural surroundings, the garden even has... More

Having lived in Auckland 10 years I only just found out about this place, although it's served by some of the Auckland tour buses, so dragged hubby there on a sunny Sunday. It's run by volunteers as a private enterprise so there was an entry charge ( cheaper if you were on one of the tourist buses we were told).... More

If you like plants and gardens like my wife, this is a must visit place. It's spread out and really gives you the feel of being far away from the city. It's one of the stops on the hop on hop off bus tour. We were able to stroll through the gardens and easily catch the next bus. They also... More

Visited the gardens as it was right outside the hop on hop off bus stop. Beautiful gardens that were not busy at all so we were able to stroll at a leisurely pace. A nice way to spend a hour or two.

Eden Garden is one of Auckland's best kept secrets. We've been visiting there for years and the gardens are a constant joy to view through the seasons. It is a memorial garden created by volunteers from a disused quarry. It is also a beautiful garden with beautiful trees, flowers and native birds. There is an entry charge with discounts for... I took my elderly mother here today as the garden is always beautiful and peaceful. Sunny and full of birdsong today!the rhododendrons are starting to flower and there are still some tulips flowering. The cafe food and coffee were good too and the shop has gorgeous gift items.

It us obvious a lot of work has gone into the creation and upkeep of this garden. It was truly amazing with hidden corners of delight everywhere. Chickens wandering around added a nice touch. The cafe food was fine and we bought several gifts from the gift shop. Well worth a visit.

We visited the gardens today, Sunday 4th September. The grounds were just glorious, with hundreds of tulips flowering beautifully. The magnolias, camellias and rhododendrons were magnificent. The grounds are not the traditional and flat, the gardens are at the base of Mount Eden and the paths are easy walking but not flat and definitely steep in some parts. Our daughter... More

A lovely little spot at any time of the year but spring and summer are my favourite. Listen to the birdsong and the Tuis especially. A flourishing garden in a disused quarry right on the side of Mt Eden. Combine a walk to the summit of Mt Eden with a wander around the gardens and a sit down at the... More
