Come to the Mint, where every single Australian coin in the pockets of millions of Australians is made! While wandering through the Mint's observation gallery you can look into the coin production factory and marvel at Titan, one of our great family of robots who help out with all the heavy lifting. Spend some time in the theatrette where a video will take you behind the scenes to explain the fascinating process of making coins. Check out the rare and historically significant coins on show from the National Coin Collection, which is held in the vaults of the Mint. Mint your own collectable coin and browse the Mint Coin Shop where you can find great gifts, mementos of your visit or even start your own collection! We offer free public tours twice daily Monday- Friday and three times daily on the weekends.

Not the most exciting place in Canberra. Worth a look for 30 to 40 minutes. Clean exhibits and restrooms and coffee shop. Easy parking.

There wasn't a lot happening at the time we visited the Mint, but it did provide an interesting insight into the history of currency in Australia. Loved the quirky staircase with 5-cent pieces cascading across the front of the stairs.

Fantastic few hours spent with our daughter at The Mint. Even though it was busy (school groups in) it was educational - and my daughter loved following the 'treasure hunt' guide and reading/learning. One of our highlights.

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to be a part of your Canberra experience. We trust this will lead to many years of fascination for your daughter as she encounters new Australian coins.

This was a great way to spend an hour. My boys (7&4) enjoyed the interactive screens very much. I was able to supervise them whilst reading some of the other displays.

This is a must see in Canberra. Just the building is worth seeing. You can make a coin and also take a tour of the Mint. There is plenty of parking available.

Thanks for visiting. Don’t forget to check out the ‘Learning’ section of our website, where there is a lot of material to continue the kids’ education about coins.

Tis is small but surprisingly entertaining as the space is set up looking down into the factory area where the coins are made. We were there on a Sunday so there was no one working - so it was pleasant enough - but I think...More

Thanks for the review. It’s fantastic to hear that, even though you didn’t have the added touch of seeing the factory in action, you were able to enjoy your Mint visit. We look forward to welcoming you back on a weekday, when the factory will...More
