Ample parking, great facilities and an abundance of open space (with plenty of shade) means Cotter remains a Canberra favourite. The new Cotter Dam is a sight to behold but for the kids it's a tight competition between the clear, flowing river and the fantastic...More

We decided to stop here on our way back from the Deep Space Complex. What a lovely and quaint spot we found! Great way to stretch your legs, easy to explore and accessible to the dam wall. Lots of photo ops!

Lots of bbq's and space for the family to enjoy a day out. It's a short walk to the dam wall and there's alternative walking paths up the river. Very well maintained.
