Lovely rainforest, amazing walk and even better views. The trail is very well done and a nice challenge for anyone up to it. Definitely recommend going and seeing the best of the views at the top!

A Definite walk. Easy walk up til u get to the chains. Then much harder. But so worth it. The walk down is harder and we certainly felt it in our calves next morning. Recommend going down chain area backwards when coming down. We stayed...More

Decided to head down early with my son in an attempt to see the sunrise from the top of the mountain. We drove down the highway from Coolngatta, then through Murwillimbah for the short country drive to the turn off to Mt Warning. As we...More

Decided to drive to Mt Warning and run up it. About 4.5 kms to the top - mainly stairs and good single track but the top few 100 metres is really steep rock with chain to climb up. Not vertical but very steep. Not recommended...More

For those thinking about tackling mt warning with youngish kids this is definitely a great half day out with beautiful views and a stunning rainforest walk alive with the chorus of whip birds. I reached the peak with my 6 year old son in about...More

Unfortunately for me and my partner it was a very cloudy day so we didn’t get to see the 360 degree view we were expecting which we have heard is AMAZING. The walk up the mountain through the rainforest was still beautiful and well worth...More

Be prepared for around 4 hours return, in saying that we spent about 1/2 hour at the top to have a good look around. Very clear day, so the views were awesome. It’s 4.4kms each way, 4kms of it is fairly easy, made up of...More

Mt Warning is a great hike for the hiking enthusiast but it isn’t for the unfit and unprepared! It is a 4.4km vertical climb up over rainforest tracks that are rough and uneven. Most of the track up is a decent up stairs or uneven...More

Fantastic view and workout. We’re training for a more intense hike through the Inca Trail in Peru and we used Mt Warning as one of our training climbs. Beautiful view from the top. This is not an easy hike, but with a bit of determination...More

This is a great walk and the views are stunning from the top. If it’s a hot day take at least 2L of water.

Personally I don't think a tour is needed, the path is pretty clear cut. Just remember to pack a bag with some water and food, plus if you're going for the sunrise, a flash light and a jumper. Happy hiking! :)
