Awesome time with Alfonso taking photos of the Bridge, Sydney Opera House, and the Rocks area. Never have I learned so much. Alfonso is such a great teacher you will learn how to take iconic pictures of the Harbor Bridge, Sydney's Opera House, and the Rocks all at blue hour. Composition, exposure, camera settings, light painting, and oh...even a hint... More

We had a great afternoon in the Rocks, learning about how to compose photos and how all of the different settings worked. Alfonso is super enthusiastic and always encouraging. Thanks!

Fantastic evening out , taking photos around the rocks and the iconic Bridge and Opera House. As well as that you get to see back streets and different views. Alfonso is a very helpful and approachable guide. I would recomend him to anyone.

I did a private session with Alfonso in Feb. 2017, a sunset+dawn session in Sydney (I think I can call myself an advanced amateur). I had been to Sydney several times before on business but I always struggled finding the best photo locations, times, conditions, etc. Alfonso picked me up at the hotel and we went straight to work, he... Ken is one of the best photography tutors I have had the privilege to meet. In the past I have done photo walks and photography tours here and overseas but found Ken to be one of the best teachers. He is very patient and happy to explain and demonstrate the fundamentals of photography. As there is only a small group,... More

Met Alfonso in Kiama for an evening shoot in Bombo Quarry and a sunrise shoot at Cathedral Rocks. These locations are terrific and even though the weather didn't give us the full moon or morning colour we had hoped for, Alfonso had great suggestions to make the most of our time and I came away with a couple of top... Alfonso was a fantastic teacher. Took his time with us all and went over the skills several times until we grasped it well. Very happy with the small group size too. Thanks Alfonso - highly recommend!

Alfonso was a great teacher. He tried to get to know us first and gauge our skill level with photography so that he could tailor fit the class to our needs. I loved the creative challenges we had and the encouragement and constructive criticism he would give after each challenge. He was also very friendly and chatty and gave us... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
