The ferries are a great way to get out on the harbour and take in Sydney. Tourist friendly and no shame in whipping out your camera for a pic of the bridge or opera house. Ferries were on time, every time. You must have an Opal Card to use the ferries and I found no staff to advise me on... More

Cruise in the harbour with dinner and cabaret on board. Very loud music and I did not find the show anything special.Dinner on board is ok, nothing very special. The ferry I was in was very very crowded. Hardly any place to stir from your chair. A simple cruise, to just watch the Harbour by night would be more interesting

Unexpensive, reliable and with fascinating views. Surely one of the world's best types of public transportation.

Well worth going on the ferries. If you get a card you can hop on and off. It is inexpensive and good fun and great scenery. Good for all ages. I was only there for 4 days but I used them a lot

As a non-Sydney based Australian I always enjoy catching a ferry when we visit. Often it's the cheapest way to get a harbour cruise, but it's also a pretty handy transport system - as you'd expect! Am always impressed with how friendly the staff are - when was the last time you saw someone from the train system leave their... More

We went the Echo Hopper hop on hop off option and it was well worth it. $45 gave us 10 stops over a 24hr period and given we had young kids a great option, it allowed us to spread our trip over 2 days. The key point don't buy your ticket until 1200 midday or early arvo at least that... More

It doesn't matter where you board a Sydney ferry, for a family day out nothing beats the smile on your kids faces when the ferry is on the harbour sailing under the harbour bridge. The views from a Sydney ferry are some of the best in the world. If you're a tourist and would like to take an iconic photo... More

Ferries are boarded using an OPEL ticket, which is also used for trains, buses of all kinds. A seniors ticket is available at Central Railway main concourse. Ferries go to Mosman, Manly, Parramatta, the Zoo, Darling Harbour, any trip is enjoyable.Sit inside or on the deck for a refreshing breeze.

Caught the ferry to Taronga Zoo. The trip over and back from Circular Quay was smooth and cooling on a hot Sydney summer day. What a way to travel.

This is the very best and cheapest way to enjoy our great harbour and view all those multi million dollar harbour mansions. Get yourself a ticket to Taronga Zoo, enjoy the Zoo and Bradleys head, then a new ticket from the Zoo to Manly, by the time you get to manly you would have experience the best harbour in the...
