Took the manly fast ferry to Manly which cost $17 return which I think was a fair price. Takes about 25-30 minutes each way and you get great views of the harbour, harbour bridge, Opera hose and lots of bays. Very calm trip. Even if you do not necessarily want to go to Manly you could just do the return... More

Getting around on the ferries is easy and fun! We sat upstairs in the open air and thoroughly enjoyed the cruise through the Harbour, under the bridge and past old relics dotted along the way. I was amazed at all the small islands and beautiful scenery.

Me & my husband took a day trip to Manly. The weather was just right. The ferries are well maintained & on schedule. It is a comfortable ride of approx. 20-25 mins. Both indoor & outdoor seating arrangements are available on a first come first serve basis. The ferries are available from Circular Quay every 30 mins & the best... More

The Fast Ferry costs more but we feel it's worth it so we can spend more time at our destination. The crews are friendly and helpful and the rides were smooth. If you choose the Eco Hopper, there is commentary during the ride.

Dealt with an extremely rude staff member - her eyes were already rolling before I'd even asked a question. I'm sorry that you clearly hate your job but please, keep the attitude to yourself.

Just took our parents in-law ( visiting from Italy) for a day trip to Manly on the "fast ferry". Perfect way to showcase Sydney and its beautiful, harbour and surrounds. The ride is comfortable and takes approx 20 mins. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and the whole process from purchasing tickets to being seated takes approx five minutes. Ferries... More

Takes 20 minutes to get to Manly and is a dollar more than the standard ferry. You can't use your opal card. Ferry is clean and comfortable- staff are slightly rude but that doesn't matter much when you're looking at the view and not them.

The service is quick and smooth. However, there is still enough time to view all the Harbour sights between Circular Quay and Manly. It goes every thirty minutes and is quite reasonably priced.

We booked on Ocean Ryder for New Year's Eve, this is the third time we have been on it, and would recommend it to anyone. Great night, fantastic location for the fireworks both at 9pm and midnight.

We had an extra day in Sydney and on the advice of our cruise ship breakfast companions, we hopped on the Manly Fast Ferry and spent a fabulous day seeing Sydney Harbour and enjoying the lovely Manly Island. The trip over and back allowed us a great view of the boats and harbour activitty from the comfortable lounge and was... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
