Very close to the circular quay and an easy walk from the quay is The Rocks with its many buildings from the late 19th and early 20th century. A number of nice restaurants can also be found here.

The rocks are a must visit while you are in town. This is very the first European settlers lived and there are still plenty of houses exactly in the same condition.

Hi Michael, not sure abiut small/boutique hotels in the rock area. Take a look at the Radisson Hotel which is a nice walk down to the rocks, however this is not a small boutique hotel but you will not be disappointed.
