We were visiting Sydney and walked across from Manly Beach to Shelly Beach and found this section of the Manly Scenic Walkway. The views were very special and the native bush lovely. Now that we know you can go all the way to the Spit we shall certainly return.

Walked the Manley Scenic Walkway to Shelly beach . Great walk, stopped at gift shop and cafe along the way. Swam in the calm water at Shelly beach. Water so clear it was easy to spot fish around our feet. Changing area just off the beach.

This was a beautiful walk, even in the rain. Would very much recommend as the sights are beautiful. The path is well done. There is a beach section that can be walked when the tide is out but our timing was wrong so we stayed on the path. Very, very enjoyable.

Wander off the path and relax in solitude. The views from the off-path are absolutely fantastic and you can spend a great time here.

I've done lots of walks in cities around the world and this is up there among the best. You would not believe it is in the heart of Sydney. Approx. 11kms through bushland with spectacular views of the city, the Heads, beaches, bush and suburbs. Busy on a public holiday but everyone was courteous and made way for those travelling... This is an excellent walk around the harbour from Manly to the Spit Bridge. I'd recommend this for the sights of the harbour, lush bush scenes and a healthy way to spend a few hours. The walk isn't that difficult if you take your time there are places to stop for a rest if required, even just to take in... More

Walked it again today. It is the most beautiful walk: beaches, bays, headlands, sails, boats and bush. It is a must on a visit to Sydney.

We took the Ferry from Circular Quay to visit Manly Beach. We are not beach people but the walk was great. Seeing everyone enjoying the afternoon and especially the surfers.

This walk is a must. <Manly is so beautiful! The beach is divine, water crystal clear and bars, restaurants and cafes are plenty. Local or tourist, friuends or family - this is the place to go!

This is a good walk to do with a small group. It's nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city to just enjoy some nature fairly close to the city.

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
