Walked from our Hotel in Woolloomooloo (yep that is the name👍). 15 min walk and through beautiful gardens and you are at Opera House. Plenty of wildlife, plants and trees to see and one could easily spend hours there. Highly recommend. Have a picnic and soak it all in. Awesome!!!

We started our Garden experience at the gate nearest the Opera House where we got into the "Choo choo express"...lol. It was a little train that they took you around the gardens where you could get off/on at 4 different spots. We took it all the way around and then took it to where we wanted to get off....not sure... More

While the gardens were designed as a display of word flora, the real value is the close up view of Sydney Harbour and great photo opportunities with the view of the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge or simply the harbour itself as a backdrop.

What a wonderful experience. We walked through the Gardens the first time as tourists and by the end of our stay we were so familiar with it, we were giving tips to other tourists. The variety of plants was awesome, and the serenity was sublime.

Lovely place to stroll and enjoy trees, vast lawns and beautiful plantings. Walk slowly and enjoy the clean air and sense of relaxation you have.

This botanic garden is a must have seen in Sydney, a really beautiful british style garden with a lot of corners with special garden styles like asian, succulents and many more. And a beautiful place to relax on the greens in this busy town.

The Royal Botanic Gardens are gorgeous and well-worth the time to soak in the beautiful layout of plants and flowers! We were especially delighted by the special exhibition about the making of chocolate at The Calyx! The obvious investment of care and attention for this exhibit made it delightful to all senses -- great visual displays (including a "green" wall... More

Thoroughly enjoyed wandering through the Royal Botanic Gardens after a long leisurely lunch. It is an absolute must for Sydney residents and tourists alike. There is an element of history about the gardens as well as fascinating sectioned gardens - my favourite has to be the Succulents or Cactus Garden which has many different varieties from all over the World.... the Botanical Gardens are fairly large and one section contains only plants from Australia and another plants from around the world. There is a nice tea shop in the middle and if you can get there at the right time there is a cute little red train that runs through the different areas.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
