My beach. Walking on the coast path towards the beach, Looking at the sea, waves are looking for my feet. Could sit there the whole day.

cute little beach. lots of locals. very clean. nice cafes and restaurants around. not far from Manly beach. we did a shore scuba dive here. water was colder than I'd like, and not very clear. this area is better for just playing in the water or laying in the sand.

My friend and I took the Ferry from Circular Quay to Manly and walked towards the Esplanade and on to Shelly Beach. We had good weather - it was sunny but cool and we walked passed Marine Parade, Cabbage Tree Bay, etc towards Shelly Beach Park and back. Plenty of activity around us with people lounging on the beach, others... More

We went there for curiosity and find one of the best beach around Sydney area. We did not expect to find this wonderful and interesting place. If you go to Manly Beach, do not miss out this existing 20 minutes walk to Shelly Beach, you will be impressed!

We walked here going to The Boathouse and it's an amazing view with plenty of things to do. I just wish we had time to swim!

This is a picturesque beach at the end of the walk from Manley Beach with soft golden sand. Sheltered from the large waves by some rugged rocks, this beach is perfect for families with young children. There is a grassy stretch on the shore, with places to BBQ your own meal, or a couple of options for buying refreshments, including... More

To see how beautiful parts of Australia are..come and see Shelly beach near Manly,When you arrive in the area, make your way along to the ocean foreshore at Manly Beach, then head south on the ocean walkway past the surf club [that yellow coloured building at the end of the beach] and keep going around the ocean side on the pathway. You will... A short walk along the coastal path from the main Manly Beach is this wonderful little sheltered beach. It seems much more suitable for families given the sheltered nature of the beach and the water. It was also a good bit quieter than the main beach on the day we visited.

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
