We were here just as a stop on a tour of Sydney. Very attractive. Popular with surfers. Seemed to be nice and clean.

Spent a day at Manly Beach in Sydney. The site is famous for surfing and is popular with a younger crowd. Lots of teens and younger adults. I will preface this review with the fact that I prefer calm, warm waters at the beach so if you are a surfer this review will not resonate with you. The trip over... More

Visited Manly beach recently it was superb so much more of a local attraction than Bondi and the choice of restaurants on the beach front was very varied and good value. If you follow the coastal path around to a small bay it is a little quieter and is a natural protected reserve for sea and wildlife fish and animals.

Manly is a really good and diverse destination, the beach is well maintained and patrolled by life guards, their are plenty of places to stop and enjoy the view. A short walk from the actual beach there are plenty of small cafes and shops. On the day we visited there was a really good market. So much to do😊

A truely fabulous almost hidden gem. They used to say 7 miles from Sydney and a thousand miles from care! As soon as you step off the Ferry at Manly you will know what they meant! So many Eateries and great accommodation, a bit of Shopping and 4 glorious beaches! Queenscliffe is my favourite one. So many people just enjoying... More

We spent Boxing day at the beach. The area is clean and well looked after. Life guards in attendance at all times. The area around the beach has a market area as well as shops , restaurants and bars. This was a family area, with amenities for all ages A

Beach was very busy on the day we visited, but had some good facilities such as water fountains and free wifi for visitors. Must note that you can only swim in limited areas of the beach

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
