Loved my recent visit to Fort Denison. Great restaurant, amazing views, heaps of staff, very quick ferry ride from the quay. It was a real treat!

A interesting piece of history here, just a boat ride away. We also went to have dinner there and the food was ok,but the views are great! It's a small place so it won't take long to walk around

Transport to and from the Island by Captain Cooke Cruises was comfortable, efficient and on time. The lunch was great. Good service, good menu and great presentation of the meals. The best was that wait staff listened and complied with requests.

Had an amazing lunch at fort Denison. Food was outstanding with the view to die for. Wait staff very attentive. Weather was ideal. Not a cheap day out however.

WOW!! What an awesome day we had here..it was a surprise birthday for my husband arranged by our daughters. Couldn't have asked for a better time or place. We left Circular Quay and arrived just in time to watch the gun being fired at 1pm. It was a beautiful spring sunny day. We enjoyed a scrumptious lunch of Aussie foods,... More

While it has played a role in Sydney's history and it is interesting, the cost of travel to/from, morning tea and the guided tour are over the top expensive. Coupled with the very aggressive national parks guide, I couldn't recommend a visit.

We took the guided tour and went up the tower. Our guide was informative. We had thought that Fort Denison was a type of convict prison, but not so. Worthwhile taking the tour. The cost was $15.50 per adult. Recommend being on the island for the daily 1pm firing of the gun. It's loud!!

Here is my original review rejected by Tripadvisor for some reason: "As part of a Captain Cook Hop-on-Hop-Off, we visited Fort Denison. Did not take long to get through the museum; therefore, had lunch. Overall, excellent experience with the walk thorough, history, and lunch. Recommend doing this as part of the "hop-on-hop-off". Apparently I need to expand on something. As... More

So a $20 return ticket from CC cruises gets me a 5 minute ferry ride each way from circular quay and "entry" to Fort Denison. What they don't tell you is the "entry" fee covers 2 pathetic rooms of some paltry displays, but it costs extra to actually check out the proper part of the fort?! Don't waste your time,... More
