A tiny island fort in Sydney Harbour. Mainly used as a restaurant. Otherwise it can all be appreciated in 30 mins Would benefit from a bit more signage and tidying up - building material left around on my visit Good for watching boats in the Harbour.

My husband and I had a surberb lunch on Fort Denison. The service and food was amazing and although pricey was defintiely worth the experience. We weren't aware that we had to pay for the ferry to the Fort and would have planned it a little better if we had. As you can purchase a hop on, hop off ticket... More

We did the hop on hop off harbour boat stopping at Fort Dennison. No need to book a tour in advance. If you'd like access to the Mortello Tower then you need to pay the onsite guide. Otherwise you are free to look at the exhibitions (very interesting) the audio visual program and explore the upper area with the cannons.... More

You can get to the island by a Captain Cook ferry for $20 adult return fare that includes the park entry fee or book a guided tour through the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service - by phone. The 30 minute guided tour was interesting and entertaining. The views are spectacular. We had the 12:15pm tour and watched the 1pm... More

Boarded the Captain Cook Ferry for a short trip to Fort Denison in the Sydney Harbour to join the 12.15 pm Heritage tour around the Island and up into the Martello Tower. There are some narrow stairs to climb to the top but well worth the effort to see the views of Sydney Harbour. The National Parks tour guide Lady... More

Fort Denison has interesting history and worth a look. There's not all that much to see but it's a lovely spot with great views of Sydney Harbour. The bid downer is the cost of getting there! $18 as you have to go on a Captain Cook cruiser.

Tiny Fort Denison Island’s history over 150 years has included being used as a fishing spot, defence structure, navigational guide, tide gauge station, weather station and time marker. Convicts stayed here, sandstone from here was used at Bennelong Point, where the Opera House now stands and cannons were fired from here at 1pm every day for 36 years until 1942... More

Quick ferry trip from Circular Quay although expensive on Captain Cook Cruises. Very interesting history -we enjoyed the small museum and 12-minute video. Nice lunch but a bit overpriced, you can't beat the views though!

A interesting piece of history here, just a boat ride away. We also went to have dinner there and the food was ok,but the views are great! It's a small place so it won't take long to walk around
