So many restaurants & pubs to choose from. Plus lots of weird & wonderful people wandering along King St every night.

Newtown-Enmore is an eclectic, gentrifying area of Sydney full of 20- and 30-somethings, with a mix of older people and families thrown in. It is full of bars, take-aways and restaurants, with a mix of older, established places and new start-ups -- some quite posh...More

There are some nice wall paintings around with good art. You will find some good quality small shops, bookshops, cafes, restaurants.

Newtown is fantastic and probably my favourite place in Sydney. It's full of small bookshoops, independent shops, etc. Absolutely fantastic and I would highly recommend a visit.

Despite predictions of doom, Sydney's generally a fun place to be, but I've been a bit disappointed with the changes in places like Kings Cross and Balmain. However, every time I visit Newtown, I'm impressed with the level of activity and variety of sights along...More

From all the hype expected a very trendy hipster place with lots of good coffee shops. Sadly just found a street (King Street) with relatively narrow footpaths (so hard to get through the masses) and fairly ordinary shops with few cafes. Managed to fall into...More

Fortune of War, 137 George St Sydney appears to be the oldest bar in Sydney. The hotel ... since 1828. The bar's interior design looks fantastic. Worth visiting.
