Myself and a couple other friends were really looking forward to doing a ghost tour during our weekend away in Sydney. We chose to do this one, didn't we make the wrong decision. The cost of this tour was $45 and all it is was a boring 2 hour walking history lesson. The guide was dressed in a tacky cape... More

Host Rowan was a very entertaining guy and the tour was informative and interesting. I have visited the Rocks on a number of occasions but have never done anything like this before. Well worth it!

Rowan our ghost host was definitely fun and theatrical each story was interesting as much as it's location and he cracked in quite a few jokes. A few places were a little too creepy somewhat but overall I found everything fun, fascinating and just a little creepy.

Our guide Maxine was fantastic with her story telling. Although it was a large group, it was still fun. There were some in the group who were sure that had experiences.

The North Tour had around 10 people in the group, the South Tour which we did (and wasn't given a choice) had 29 people, no balance in that at all. Maxine was our guide who told some great stories & that's about it, the walk around the rocks was great but at a cost of $45 a head was very... More

I felt disappointed by our experience with the rocks ghost tour... Our tour guide Maxine was nice but she wasnt able to completely engage our group! This could also have been because there were 29 people?! I just felt this was way too many. Max number of people should be around 15 considering the rooms/building sizes we were entering. Although... Our host Gary was great, knowledgeable & with a sense of humour. Enjoyed the evening & saw so many hidden places being a Sydneysider myself. The History was fantastic!! Look forward to doing other tours with this company & would recommend to friends & family.

We live only two blocks from The Rocks area and kept saying we should do this tour, finally we took the plunge on a very gloomy Tuesday night, which added to the experience, and loved it!! We had a great guide who added just enough humour to make it fun but not cheesy and some great history which we didn't... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
