Modern cities are full of exotic animals that we hardly notice don't really fit into their surroundings, such as stone lions on memorials, stuffed tigers in museums, exotic fruit on Victorian warehouses. So it is quite unusual to find a memorial about what should be...More

While walking on George St we saw a street with hanging empty bird cages called Angel Place Birdcages between George St and Pitt St. Forgotten Songs commemorates the songs of fifty birds once heard in central Sydney. The calls, which filter down from the canopy...More

For photographers like my wife, it's an interesting place for taking photos. Go there and spend 5 minutes if you are sightseeing around Martin place.

This street is quite unique. It has many bird cages hanging up in the sky. No one can touch them and there were no birds in it. Still, it attracts people to see it. On the pavement there were numerous names of birds. I liked...More

We found where it was meant to be but there were no bird cages there anymore. Not sure if they’ve been temporarily or permanently removed.

It's easy to ignore the place of natural history in our modern spaces. This installation brings back the sounds of some the birds no longer found in sydney. Worth finding.

Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with
energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise
buildings and after-work drink places, high-end
shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit
the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle,
reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens
