So this is a street inside the Rock's. It was named such because the first hospital was located here and there are all sorts of signs in order to commemorate this. Having said that, it seems that now there are a lot of jewelry shops here

Located in 'Тhe rocks'. This is a narrow street with lots of shops and restaurants along it. During the day a lively evening is pretty quiet .

Nurses Walk is located in The Rocks area of Sydney. As you walk up George Street, on your left, you will see a sign indicating Nurses Walk turn in and it is a small walkway that turns and runs parallel to George for a short distance and then turns back onto George. In here you will find cute little shops,... More

This is a great place to find as you explore the Rocks area of Sydney. Just one street back off George St, Opposite the Museum of Contemporary Art, you will find this little street which has some great little shops, cafes and restaurants. We took some early evening photos to give it a historical look, which does make it look... More

The nurses walk is a very interesting walk that runs along the court yards behind the rocks and adjacent to appetito's italian restaurant. It's always interesting to for a stroll here.

Cobblestoned paths and quaint specialty shops that sell charm stones, buttons, fashion wear and lots more. Also welcoming cafes to refresh yourself. Bring an umbrella if there's chance of rain. It's at the location of the first general hospital in Sydney hence the name.

This is one of my favourite little streets in Sydney - vintage cafe is amazing for dinner and some great little shops.

Located in The Rocks area. There are a lot of old historic buildings along this walk. Many of them have been transformed to shops, cafes and restaurants now. This place is where you find the first hospital where the sick convicts landed, and to commemorate the nurses who worked free to nurse the sick then. You will be guided with... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
