Loved the Ghost Tour at the Quarantine Station! The Quarantine Station is an amazing piece of history located a stone's throw away from Manly. We enjoyed some drinks and dinner at the bar prior to the tour at 9pm. Definitely recommend it as a nice place to chill out as the sun is going down. The actual tour lasted around... More

I managed to talk my wife into doing the ghost tour at the Quarantine station. She's thanking me now!!! Boy what an intense experience. We were treated to first class service by our tour guide who was knowledgeable and helpful. I won't go in to too much detail but to say that if you don't believe in ghosts then this... More

The Quarantine Station would have to be one of the most amazing historical pieces of our history of immigration, in a stunning location but with a somewhat sad but very interesting story. The buildings are so beautifully preserved and the landscape a unique outcrop in Manly. The night time Ghost Tour was not that sensational but certainly a unique tour... More

The tour was excellent and creepy. We heard knocking in the hospital. Don't know who or what it was. Enjoyed the history and the many stories on the tour. Be aware there is a lot of walking up and down hills etc. Our main problem was getting back to Sydney. It was harder because it was a Sunday night. The... More

Wow! I got here and found the etched wall to which History was inscribed, showing the people that had arrived, would you believe one of the first ships here held my fathers last name! That alone was spooky! Talk about history, The rest of the tour was pretty cool I loved the history and tales that went along with the... More

Took part in a ghost tour that lasted nearly three hours. The tour is very informative with the guides extending their wealth of knowledge. They took our group to the Gas Chamber, the Hospital, Nurses Quarters, Morgue, Third Class building and the Shower Block. Some areas do have that feel of a presence and the visitors senses are heightened by... More

We were on a Friday night Ghost Tour, which was – I think – a bit too popular. There were about 14 of us, which took away from the atmosphere a little bit. The guide was wonderful, and he offered a lot of interesting information and spooky stories about the historical buildings that we visited. It was great to have... More

I went to the evening ghost tour with my brother and his girlfriend as part of my holiday. My thoughts were to go during the day my brother chose the ghost tour. Upon arrival we were lucky to see a wild possum while waiting for the bus to take us down to the wharf. Our guide was excellent allowing us... More

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
