Very impressive building. Un believable. Worth a look as the design and architecture is inspiring. A huge church with history.

Having visited many churches in many countries, this one is exceptional, and one I keep going back to when in Sydney. It is beautiful, serene, well worth the effort to visit, and a true proponent of the best in Pope Francis. It is also the second oldest continually used church in Australia with the oldest one, St Brigid's being just... More

Strange to review a church but have been sometimes hard to find a Catholic Church when you go in the city for a weekend away. Lovely old church with a choice of around 10 masses on a Sunday. Recently went to the noon mass which had a choir and was very special. Well located not far from city centre or... More

A must for those that love traditional churches. When you've done all the iconic Sydney tourist things, do yourself a favour and visit St Pats. It's in the heart of the Rocks district, so easy to find and tag onto an exploratory rocks visit. It's a small but beautiful traditional church with a gorgeous alter, traditional stained glass windows and... More

The St.Patrick's Cathedral is right in the heart of Sydney city and amidst all the new high rise office and commercial places that have sprung up around the church in the last few decades. But the church retains it serenity and is a place for some peaceful soul searching. I took a quick visit during coffee break only to remain... More

The tour that we took of St Patricks was one of the best. Our guide was exceptional in regards to knowledge of the subject as well as enthusiasm and passion for the history. It was full of amazing information about the early days of Sydney and how the fledgling colony dealt with its myriad of challenges. The history of St... More

One of the best tours I've been on. Our charming tour guide gave us a great background to the start of the Catholic church in Sydney and showed us around the St Patrick's buildings, explaining the history uses and numerous people involved in making St Patrick's what is is. There is also a lovely coffee shop housed in the former... More

St Patrick's Church near the Rocks is definitely worth a visit. It is one of the historical landmarks greatly influenced by the early Irish migrants. Would like to learn more about this historical monument. Being in the heart of Sydney it is still very active in the local community

We dropped in here on Saturday night before dinner and attended Mass. It is very well maintained and full of character. The organ music was impressive and the lead vocalist had a terrific voice. I was surprised at how many services it offered during the week and on the weekend. Must have a very dedicated set of priests.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
