I arranged to meet an old work colleague here for a pint. I walked from George Street down past Circular Quay and through The Rocks. I actually walked under the Harbour Bridge and up Argyle Street to get here. It is a lovely stone building and on entry feels just like an English pub. Apparently this is the oldest licensed... The Three Sheets beer I had here, was one of the best I have tried in Australia. The Nachos helped it go down superbly. Well worth the visit.

Not overly taken with the Trafalgar Pale ale but the Tree Sheets is probably the best ale I've tasted in the southern hemisphere and there is an awful lot of dross out there. Great pub with loads of atmosphere, it will be high on the places to visit.

The Lord Nelson is in a fantastic historical building in a fantastic historical neighborhood. The kitchen was closed when we ducked in, but we enjoyed the ambiance and the beer very much.

This is the closest you will get to an English pub in Sydney. Great variety of beers and wines. We ate in the bar and the food was great. We had the Lamb Shank hotpot. If you are going at the weekend would suggest booking a table as it's very popular.

As always, wonderful atmosphere and excellent beer. I haunted this place in my youth, 20+ years ago and as I pop in over the years, it has never disappointed. We didn't eat here on this occasion but the people next to us are every pleased with their meals.

Needed a place to rest up, enjoy a beverage and get a light lunch. The Lord Nelson was great - really friendly and quick service and the food was great - well seasoned.

I love this old historical pub. I have been going here for the past 25 years and will continue to do so for the next 25. I always take out of town visitor here. Love their home brews!
