DO NOT listen to the staff at The Kings Canyon Hotel as they will tell you NOT to travel this badly corrugated rocky dangerous road. Luckily I ignored their advice and went as this was a major part of our trip and we were not disappointed. It was like a typical Kiwi gravel road - as wide as a 4... More

Even though Miss Negative Nellie at Kings Canyon Resort warned us against the pitfalls (if you are going to go make sure you have the $3000 a tow will cost you when you break down put aside) the road was fine. Yes, corrugated in places but not excessively and only in patches.Great scenery, and even though we didn't see one... More

Mereenie loop is 150km long unpaved road which is located between Hermannsburg and King Canyon in the Northern Territory. It is a great way wide, flat non-binding, however recommend that go along with the 4wd (although I do not ever used on the way). Before leaving (even the day before) must apply for a permit (5 aud) because it passes... More
