The old Telegraph Station near Alice Springs, Australia is OK to medium, but not very interesting. The old telegraph station was built to allow communication from northern to southern Australia from about 170 years ago. For Australian historical buffs, this is an interesting stop. For the rest of us, it is sort of boring. I do not recommend the Telegraph... More

Turned up on spec. Staff very helpful. Did tour using map. Very informative. Despite the heat, enjoyed the attraction. Certainly brought to life how it was for pioneers.

Enjoyed learning the history of the telegraph station and its significance in the region. Great old pictures in the museum. The kangaroos wandering the grounds were a bonus.

This was a very interesting tour and a good insight into the town of Alice Springs and the birthplace of the township. It is situated about 4km from the town centre and is easily accessible. The tour guide is very informative and explains how the first relay messages were sent between Darwin and Adelaide and later how the link with... More

Great visit, excellent guide. As the buildings are a distance apart, it is worth thinking about doing this visit when it is cool. Great history

For me the most interesting part was the information about... More

This site is a little out of town ($10 cab fare). It lets you glimpse at how people lived in the late 1800's. it has been nicely restored but there aren't that many displays. It takes about 30 minutes to see it all. For me the most interesting part was the information about how the area was used after 1932... More
