The buildings are well sign posted and really interesting. The cemetry walk was around 3km around and the scenery on that made it worth the flies!

A water hole is the reason the Telegraph Station was established back in the 1870's in the Northern Territory desert, We took an excellent tour of the station and grounds, then spent an hour on our own, exploring the buildings which make up a museum of early telegraph systems, the lives of the earliest Europeans who lived here, and the... What a great place, very historic and informative. I felt like I wanted to live in that era to experience the mode of living and the whole family atmosphere. The morse code equipment was marvellous and you actually got to try your hand at using it. The stories. Very interesting how Alice got its name. Very hot with flies make... More

Worth getting to grips with the history of this - it is, after all, the main reason Alice Springs came into being. The building and maintaining of the Telegraph line opened up the Australian outback. The buildings are well preserved and the cost to enter is worth it. Would have been a hard life 'back in the day' and this... More

The Alice Springs Telegraph Station was well worth the small fee to join a guided tour. Guide was informative and fun and we learnt a lot about NT history. A sad part was the history lesson about the stolen generation. On a brighter note the surrounding park is lovely and we recommend you take a picnic or enjoy the BBQ... More

It's always interesting to walk around old buildings like this and imagine what it must have been like more than a century ago when they were first lived in. Well worth a visit and lots of walking and biking in the area too

I have visited this place over a span of 50 years but the improvements that have been made make it even more enjoyable now. It really does give a person a great insight into the early days of the outback of Australia. if you can allow at least a couple of hours.
